Summer Better Than Others...

pic:multicurious

Been obsessively searching for tracks by these two guys for ages; Breakbot's remix of PNAU really hit the spot, ahh right here, and CFCF did arguably the nicest remix of 'D.A.N.C.E' a while back. Both are pretty chilled out - don't you be expecting no bangers!

Breakbot - Summer Party

CFCF - Sogni Rossi

And here's the D.A.N.C.E remix, just in case...

The Black Ghosts have a new single out on Southern Fried on the 28th April. A host a remix talent on show. The Sinden remix was never going to disappoint, and on a way more spaced and beautiful tip, Frankmusik do nice things.

the 90's really did have dance music nailed(!) this track gives a dirty edge to that brilliant 90's vocal sound we love so much.

IT'S WAR

herve's very own cheap thrills record label made its first release earlier this year in the form of a count of monte cristal ep, this time around he's releasing an ep for the label under his voodoo chilli guise, the titans ep was released today (hoorah) and it is hott, as this ep promo had already let us all know. if you haven't been convinced already then you've left it pretty late, but pick up this promo then go straight away to pick up the real thing! next up for cheap thrills, action man - action trax ep. we'll keep you posted.

I've been excited about this track for a while now. Nobody does heavy like The Proxy. It's out soon on Turbo, when you can pick it up in full quality over on beatport.

But seriously, that drop.....

STEPPING OUT OF FRANCE

pic:missmosh

good news, this post is gonna include stuff other than that relating to ed rec vol 3, shock horror. i think three consecutive posts has got the message through clearly enough that ed banger are bringing out a new compilation. i am still talking about a frenchman but this guy, douster to give him a name, has been causing a fuss over in buenos aires for a bit of a change. after all the anticipation for the phra refit of n.e.r.d's 'everyone nose' it was gonna be hard for another dj to impress us all, but you know what, this guy has totally managed it. i would have posted these up sooner but i'm moving house at the moment so my recent internet access has been minimal, as a result the following tracks have been around for a tiny while but this guy is still worth the post, if you could please delete these tracks from your computer if you've picked them up already then download them from here and oooh and aaah in all the appropriate places. thanks very much.

Lovely Chords - How to Clean Your BF's Teeth (Douster Remix)

Douster - Nosebreak

EDIT:
bringing us a little more up to date, douster has ever so kindly sent over his sweeet bryan cox remix, his awesome fix of three 6 mafia's (hilarious) i'd rather and promises of his freak mode track upon completion, you can check out the work in progress right now over on his myspace, gonna be hottt so check back soonnnnn

Bryan Cox - Let's Go To Work (Douster Don't Go To Work Remix)

Three 6 Mafia - I'd Rather (Douster Remix)

Miserable day out in the capital. Pop these babies in your Dance Club orifice and let some sun in. Cryptonites 'Glow' blows it's load early on, pumped with orchestral hits and phaser effects. I can see Justice and Daft Punk influences in there somewhere...

Cryptonites - Glow

Grayskull's mix of 'We Got Dynamite' reminds me of that Like Woah! tune we posted a while ago. It chased away those grey clouds, though it does get a bit Chipmunky towards the end. Alviiin!?!

Stress

pic:xxchange

Revising for finals sucks balls. Luckily, Ed Rec III is out on May 26th as you all know. If like me you can't wait that long then here's a couple of beauties that are gonna feature. Disappointing that Justice didn't write a new tune for it, but then they've probably not been able to fit it into their schedule of having the best life ever. They do a great remix job on 'Stress' though - for the record it is Justice and not a make believe genius known as Auto as I, and seemingly a lot of people, incorrectly assumed (i spent ages trying to find his myspace as well...)

Justice - Stress (Auto Remix)

Mr Flash then steals the show with 'Over The Top.' I was gonna put 'Dog' up by Sebastian, but considering i've posted a lot about him recently, and that the tune scares the hell out of me, I decided against it. When it's out, why not go and buy it on beatport.

Sorry about that pun. My two favourite Sebastians. You've probably all heard 'motor,' but just in case. The second track was never going to disappoint. To be honest, when you see that Sébastien Tellier is being remixed by Midnight Juggernauts, you know something is right with the world.

Grrrrr

pic:alectwin

With the new Ed Rec compilation coming out, it's time to get excited about Ed Banger again. And to do just that, Busy P and DJ Medhi poor some filth over the unsuspecting Bumblebeez (who themselves have a new album out, called Prince Umberto & The Sister of Ill).

Now the clue is in the title. Certainly no club banger, more the kind of song to listen to in a dark bar in the American midwest. I think I actually growled the first time I heard this.

"I Love You"

pic:loveisaplasticshield

i'm sure you all saw that video over on curb crawlers, much more of a success than the official i think we can agree? now the shoes have had a go at mixing up the wiley track, it's an equally great improvement

Wiley - Wearing My Rolex (The Shoes Remix)
[link removed by request/they tried to close down our box account without in any way contacting us, nice]

now i'm always offering up sick new designs through this blog, but they usually show themselves in the forms of tees and sweatshirts... assuming your chests are now well covered, it's time to show your walls some love. you can pick up this sweet diplo print from his 2008 new year party over on turntable lab

you can also pick up some new parra prints from over on his product of god page.

I've Been Waiting So Long...

...for this tune. And its not let me down. Surkin, I love you. Great to be back in Blighty.

Clark Able - Bad Boy on the Block

When Saints Go Machine - Kids on Vacation (Clark Able Remix)

and in case you never grabbed it before, and for the sake of being thorough... here's zombie disco squads fix of the above mentioned when saints go machine track. that band really do get the sickest remixes.

THIS IS THE LAST TIME, I SWEAR

pic:ellenvonunwerth

ok ok ok, so i realise that three posts in one day is probably slightly too excessive, but i've been a bit distant over the last few weeks so i'm making it up to you all now. i should probably just learn to gather all my thoughts before i start sticking everything up here.

the promise of clark able's lemonhead ep has been ringing in our ears for far too long now, but word has it that its release is imminent, so to whet your appetite (if the countless months that have passed since this talk began haven't done that already) here's a sick remix he's done of french duo erik bo & tony will's track 'funk addict'. if you head over to stompy you can pick up the rest of their 'the funk groove' ep

Erik Bo and Tony Will - Funk Addict (Clark Able Remix)
[link removed by request]

the only way to follow on from that is something equally heavy, and it comes in the form of this malente remix of hostage. if you're into this then you can pick up some more hostage tracks, including his very recent collab with OH SNAP!! (yeah, this probably should have all been mentioned in my last post) over on his myspace

Hostage - Roll On (Malente Remix)

ok, now i'll stop for today, i promise

OH NO SHE DIDN'T?!

pic:ferdinandoscianna

if n.o.r.e's feature spot on the new mstrkrft track just wasn't quite enough for you then get on this OH SNAP!! version, which is even more "rap rave"-tastic. i'm sure there's a pun about 'snapping up' this track, but i've missed it...

MSTRKRFT - Bounce (Feat. N.O.R.E) (OH SNAP!! Bootleg Vocal Remix)

also, if you haven't already, you can pick up OH SNAP!!'s new ep, free of charge, through the following link. track two, party people, has been floating about for a little while, but it still totally does it for me. there's also some dirty dead prez and p diddy (or puff daddy as he was back then) remixes. and his brand new track 'flavor flav'

OH SNAPP!! - Oh Snap, It's Totally Free

01 Flavor Flav
02 Party People!!
03 High Top Fade
04 Diddy Bop
05 Can I Bring My Gat?
06 Countin' Dead Prez

COME OUT WHEREVER YOU ARE

pic:outwithme

that video clip was great and all, but it just didn't slot itself into our playlists quite easy enough, this mp3 format works much better

Lonely Hearts

pic:HOCK

Joakim played Polaroid's 4th birthday in Leeds on Friday night, I don’t remember too much but luckily for you I managed to jot a couple of things down on my phone. Firstly I wrote, “this are the good times” (which I assume means it was a very good night indeed) and secondly my fav picks from the set:

The Emperor Machine - Monkey Overbite

Herbert – Moving Like A Train (Smith N’ Hack remix)

Here’s some Joakim as well for good measure:

DON'T STOP DON'T STOP

pic:dementee

always one to help out the little guy, this track is the first release of mexican dj BFG-9000 and it's one hell of a good start, you can go tell him you agree with us over on his myspace

Rihanna - Don't Stop the Music (BFG-9000 Remix)

and for good measure, here's the older beatdoctors fix of the track, which is still totally sick

Now Breathe In

We've written before about Vacation Records. We love them. You should really check out Bass Kleph's new Helium EP over on beatport. To get you in the mood, check out Mowgli's delightful wobble bass remix. Good times? The best of times.
