To celebrate the fact that Late Of The Pier are doing a European tour, their promo team got in contact with Dance Club the other day to offer a cool competition to our readers. If you didn't know LOTP are playing November 27th at Heaven (London), 28th at Carling Academy (Liverpool) and the Chameleon in Nottingham on the 30th Nov. Anyway, the prize is a set of the following:
- limited edition LOTP CD sampler which includes, 'Heartbeat,' 'Focker,' 'Very WAV' (Japan-only bonus track), 'The Bears are Coming (Emperor Machine remix)' and 'Heartbeat (Hot Chip remix)' - 7" vinyl of Heartbeat (w/ Very WAV as the b-side) - LOTP poster - LOTP button - another CD sampler including a variety of tracks from LOTP and other Astralwerks artists
We want to know the answer to the following question - Who produced Late Of The Pier's album 'Fantasy Black Channel'? Send in your answers to welcometodanceclub@gmail.com. Competition closes 1st December.
To get you in the mood here's a bit of LOTP courtesy of the guys themselves!
everyones been going gaga for the hercules and love affair remix of cut copys 'far away' that's been doing the rounds lately. now damn arms have had a go remixing the track and they definitely give it that extra hit of disco pop it needed.
So my latest mix was taken down by Google. You may have heard about this before. Google weren't good enough to tell us any specifics about the complaint, just that there was one. Seems a bit unfair right? The complaint is also pretty odd given we have good relations with all the record companies and their PR companies. And you would have hoped that they'd raise the issue direct with us. It's not like we hide our email.
All our content is hosted direct with our own server. I guess we'll need to set about moving our site there too. Good thing Jazz is on a webdesign course at the minute.
For anyone who would like to listen to my latest mix, my stuff is always on my myspace.
Trevor Loveys and Affie Yusef have just dropped their newest release under the guise of Tragic Magic. you can pick up the new Fakers EP exclusively over on beatport and until then here's a freebie track and ep preview. the track samples fergie. SOLD.
There's something about the clean bounce to everything Jesse Rose does that makes him such a winner for me. And the subtlety means you know he's no flash in the pan.
He's playing at Voodoo on November 21st at Last Days Of Decadence, 145 Shoreditch High Street. Playing alongside him is everyone who knows' fav DJ, the much too nice Matt Walsh. You. Should. Go.
An absolute banker. Or given the current climate. An absolute 'gold reserve'r. That doesn't really work. Anyway, I really enjoy Fake Blood's slightly more subtle side. It's part of a special iTunes only deluxe edition of Made in the Dark. Check it out.
This couldn't be more of a Lil Bro Peep pair of songs if I tried... But I'm a big fan of La Mode, and they really are showing their song craft with these two.
i've been over in paris so haven't been posting too much recently. maybe these will help to ease the hurting....
a trevor loveys dub fix of his machines dont care track 'beat bang'. all in preparation for the singles full release on december 1 including remixes from mujava and action man. also keep your eyes peeled for some MDC tee's coming soon!
Here are some tracks to add crunch to your credit - Roots Manuva gets Hot Chipped, Aeroplane make their second appearance this week with another chilled remix, this time of Grace Jones (it's pretty cool that she's back) and VHS Or Beta get pretty emotional with Tigercity. Not sure about the lyrics to this one, but its nice and chilled at least, and incredibly eighties...
